SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION

This product consists of two culture media, dispensed into one Petri dish containing separate compartments.

It is intended for use with clinincal specimens.

Micro Neisseria Medium:

Micro Neisseria Medium is a selective medium for the isolation and cultivation of Neisseria species and the suppression of most other Gram (-) diplococci, Gram (-) bacilli, Gram (+) organisms and yeasts.

It is based on a modified GC Agar and was developed after a review of Thayer Martin Medium, New York Medium and GC agar. It gives excellent colony size of Neisseria species after overnight incubation, thus giving a quicker turn-around time for laboratories.

Chocolate Agar:

Chocolate Agar is an isolation medium  particularly recommended for the growth of fastidious strains belonging to general Neisseria and Haemophilus from clinical specimens
